Laser 2000 has announced the NUBURU AO150 high-power laser in the blue wavelength range, allowing the coupling of laser diodes into a high-performance fiber.

A 450-nm wavelength is ideal for the industrial processing of nonferrous metals, with a maximum output power of 150 W. Compared to the industrial standard of IR lasers, the blue absorption is two to 20× better, depending on the material, resulting in a process speed five to 20× higher.

Both in the microscopic and macroscopic observation of the welding process, the homogeneous leveling of the liquid phase of the welding is more reminiscent of a soft flow of wax than welding of metals known to date. Applications include welding and cutting.
