High-Power Quantum Cascade Lasers made in France

High-Poqwer Quantum Cascade lasersmirSense brings to the market an ITAR free solution in the world of high-power mid-infrared sources. Applications such as, but not limited to, DIRCM can be deployed anywhere and on many platforms due to the intrinsic performance of Quantum Cascade Lasers (QCLs). Thanks to active support of the French MOD, Europe now has a leader who can supply clients throughout the world. Our employees are world-class physicists and seasoned production technicians with 15 years of experience servicing defense clients.

QCLs are packaged into a standard or custom-made hermetically sealed package (HHL, butterfly, customized) for easy OEM integration. It usually contains a collimated lens producing low divergence Gaussian beams (few mRads and M²<1.5). List of wavelengths include, but are not limited to: 4.x µm, 9 µm. Optical mean power can reach 2W depending on wavelength (higher peak power).

The QCL can be supplied into a turnkey system comprising:
     •  A laser head providing easy laser handling, thermal control (air cooling or liquid cooling) with options such as red alignment lasers, manual shutters, or bayonet mounts and laser protection
     •  A very compact electric laser driver and temperature controller including laser protection. Optionally a driver can control two lasers heads.

With user-friendly PC software, users can control parameters such as power, waveforms, modulation frequency, duty cycle, or pulsewidth. Options on request include absolute control of the power from 0% to 100% (calibrated), and creation of embedded time-resolved complex modulations. The driver has a TTL input for external control. The driver is capable of providing continuous and quasi-continuous-wave operation with pulses of a few tenths of nanoseconds and modulation frequencies above 1MHz. mirSense can provide the electronics PCB as OEM.
