High-Speed Camera
Photron USA Inc.Request Info
Photron Inc. has announced the high-speed Fastcam SA-X camera, which delivers up to 12,500 fps at full 1024 × 1024-pixel resolution and meets the requirements of complex and demanding imaging applications.
Featuring up to 64-GB onboard memory, a 12-bit dynamic range and light sensitivity of 25,000 ISO monochrome measured to the ISO standard 12232 Ssat specification, the camera permits short exposure times, critical in high-speed imaging.
It is used in materials science, fluid dynamics, defense and aerospace research, ballistics imaging, combustion research, shock wave and detonation applications, and other activities that require visualization of complex high-speed phenomena.
Equipped with a 20-μm pixel size with a 12-bit analog-to-digital converter (Bayer system color, single sensor), it includes a dual high-speed Gigabit Ethernet interface, a fast-acting hardware trigger that allows automated camera triggering, and flexible frame synchronization to external devices, including nonstable frequencies.
Camera control can be accessed with the optional keypad or via Photron Fastcam Viewer software. The integrated capping shutter facilitates automated image calibration for easy operation. An included software development kit enables integration with user-specific software as well as wrappers for MatLab and LabView.
