A free firmware update to Fastec Imaging Corp.’s 5-Series high-speed cameras, TS5 and IL5, enables full-HD data rates of 1920 × 1080 at >630 fps. The increased rates are achieved through sensor timing optimization and extend the high data rate to lower resolutions as well: HD (1280 × 720) has increased from about 940 fps to over 1440 fps.

The faster performance allows the TS5 and IL5 cameras to be used for a range of industrial applications requiring slow-motion analysis for troubleshooting or performance analysis and improvement.
