BioTek Instruments Inc. has expanded its multimode microplate reader family with the release of the patent-pending Synergy H4 with Hybrid Technology for fluorescence applications. The compact model combines a quadruple monochromator with filter-based optics for use in biochemical and cell-based assays. It provides light filtering and purification with fast wavelength switching and readout speeds suitable for time-resolved Förster resonance energy transfer, fluorescence polarization, and AlphaScreen and AlphaLisa applications. The modular device is compatible with the company’s Take3 multivolume plate for low-volume measurements down to 2 μl.
