TORRANCE, Calif., March 4, 2008 -- HyperScan is a pushbroom hyperspectral sensor for both stationary and airborne applications, according to its manufacturer, Opto-Knowledge Systems Inc. (OKSI).
The system combines an imaging spectrometer, thermoelectrically cooled CCD camera, and intelligent control software to give 1.3 nm of spectral resolution in the 400- to 1000-nm range, with ranges of 900 to 1700 nm and 1000 to 2500 nm also available, OKSI said.
Additional HyperScan features include spectral binning, ROI (region of interest) control, high-resolution scanning mirror (operating in stare-scan and continuous-scan modes for ground-based applications), versatile mounting configurations, and interchangeable apochromatic lenses.
Flight configurations include GPS, AHARS (attitude heading and reference system), altimeter, and complete data acquisition control, according to the company.
