The IK-HD3H from Toshiba Imaging is the first in a series of two ultrasmall, three-chip CMOS remote-head, high-definition video cameras for applications including surgical microscopy, endoscopy, aerospace, specialty broadcast, and diagnostic and scientific imaging.
The 2.1-megapixel, 1080p camera series is interchangeable with the new proprietary IK-HD3D controller. With 1920 × 1080 DVI (digital visual interface) and 59.94-Hz output, the camera delivers up to 1000 TV lines resolution. It can be integrated into new or existing applications that require 1080p, 59.94-Hz output.
Its user controls allow the adjustment of color control, resolution, sensitivity and noise. Other features include a binning mode providing a 4× increase in sensitivity, image flip and mirror, a gen lock for 3-D and multicamera setups, and selectable output modes between 1080i and 1080p. The RS-232 remote control function combines with a C-mount lens mount.
