Toshiba Imaging has released the IK-HR3H, the second in its series of HD remote-head cameras.

The one-chip CMOS, 2.1-MP video camera provides color accuracy and advanced noise reduction technology via a ?-in., 1080p high-definition sensor. The 1.08 × 1.08 × 1.3-in. remote head delivers resolution of up to 900 TV lines and offers high sensitivity and wide dynamic range.

It features a switchable scanning system between 1080p and 1080i, remote control via RS-232, a C-mount lens mount, gen-lock for multicamera or 3-D camera use, image flip and mirror, and a binning mode to achieve a 4× increase in light sensitivity.

The camera is suitable for applications where a small footprint is required, such as microscopy/endoscopy, 3-D imaging, broadcasting, aerospace/defense, and scientific imaging and diagnostics.
