A suite of data exchange modules for LightTools illumination design and analysis software is available from Optical Research Associates. These modules facilitate two-way data exchange with other computer-aided design programs using IGES, SAT and STEP. Imported solid models can be modified and ray traced in LightTools, and new features allow manipulation of surface data. The modules will enable optical designers to share data with engineers using computer-aided design packages, while ensuring high model accuracy and data integrity.
