IMAGE ACQUISITION BOARD
National Instruments Corp.Request Info
National Instruments Corp. (UK) Ltd.'s PCI image acquisition board uses National Semiconductor's serial data technology to link digital cameras with personal computers. The Camera Link technology provides high-speed data transfers via a simple connector and cable that are smaller than parallel interfaces. The board can acquire images at 2.38 Gb/s, and the company says it acquires them 48% faster than typical digital frame grabbers that run a 50-MHz-pixel clock. Various cameras available for use with this device feature progressive scanning and digital signal processing for optimization of color performance. The company provides software packages that offer high-level control of image acquisition devices.
