IMAGE INTENSIFIERS The V7090 series photocathode proximity-focused image intensifiers from Hamamatsu Corp. are suitable for low-light-level imaging and multichannel detection applications. The V7090-60 GaAs device achieves 161-mA/W peak sensitivity at 830 nm and has a 520- to 920-nm spectral response. The V7090-61 blue-enhanced GaAs photocathode has a 152-mA/W peak sensitivity and a 370- to 920-nm spectral response. The company says the intensifiers' sensitivity enables them to produce images without multiboundary and multi-to-multi deviation. The lightweight devices achieve 5-ns gate time, and their minimum effective area is 18 mm in circumference.
