Ophir Optronics Inc. has released software version 1.10 for its BeamStar FX series FireWire beam profilers. Upgrades include report generation, measurement along major/minor axes instead of X and Y, ActiveX to control the camera and to capture data from other programs, and point-to-point distance measurement. Also included are step-by-step M2 measurement, 2-D Gaussian fit, region of interest and an automation interface that includes examples in Visual Basic and LabView. The BeamStar FX is supplied with a camera, filters, a plug-and-play PC card and the software.
