PinpointLaser_FlatnessPix_M.jpgPinpoint Laser Systems Inc. has released the Microgage 2D system for measuring the flatness of machinery and production equipment, including rolls, actuators, gantry systems, moving machinery stages and moving equipment. The two-axis device measures to a precision of 0.0001 in. and can operate from a few inches to 120 ft. It combines a laser transmitter with a receiver and digital display and provides accessory functions such as runout, parallelism, squareness, and bore and shaft alignment. Operating on batteries, the system connects to a laptop or PC via a serial and USB interface to link with spreadsheets for plotting and analyzing data. It comes with a variety of mounts and receivers.
