The IR-6416 laser-pulse spectroscopy system from Infrared Systems Development Corp. incorporates 64 detector elements and 16 external inputs for 80 high-speed, low-noise, data acquisition channels. Coupled with a dispersion grating, the system produces laser-pulsed infrared spectra from 2 to 20 µm with pulse widths from 1 fs to 2.5 µs. It includes a track/hold amplifier with a 16-bit digitizer, FIFO memory, a synchronous, high-speed, low-noise integrator, and system acquisition and control software. An adjustable integration gate enables the user to tune the instrument to the pulse response so as to avoid unwanted interference signals and ringing.
