Stanford Research Systems has released Sim, small instrumentation modules that are configured as a compact test and measurement platform that features front-panel and remote operation. Eight modules share the same mainframe, which provides power, clock synchronization, communications and system status. The mainframe can be cascaded with other RS-232 instruments and can operate external modules. Also available are temperature monitors, preamplifiers, an AC resistance bridge, a PID controller and a quad digital voltmeter.
