INTENSIFIED CCD CAMERAS PI*Max "2" gated intensified CCD cameras available from Princeton Instruments are for high-speed digital spectroscopy and imaging applications in research and industry. The digitization rate of 5 MHz yields high temporal resolution. The systems feature either a 1024 × 1024- or a 512 × 512-pixel CCD that is fiber optically coupled to a Gen II or III intensifier. Proprietary photocathodes optimize response for specific wavelengths from the UV to the near-IR. The cameras support <2-ns gate widths and use a fully integrated programmable timing generator for complex gate sequences. TE cooling and state-of-the-art electronics produce low noise. The dual-image feature acquires two images in rapid succession, making the system suitable for particle image velocimetry and other low-light kinetics.
