OmniVision Technologies Inc. and Grain Media Inc. have announced the GM8136S system-on-chip Internet protocol (IP) camera for security applications.

The camera delivers high-resolution video with low bandwidth requirements. It features built-in Internet service provider functions such as 3D noise reduction, digital wide dynamic range and low bit rate. The GM8136S fits in a 128-pin ePad-LQFP package supporting a two-layer printed circuit board design suitable for mass production.

Built on OmniBSI-2TM pixel architecture, the 1/3-in. OV2718 sensor uses in-pixel high dynamic range technology for high-quality scene reproduction in high- and low-light environments. Applications include professional surveillance IP cameras, car digital video recorders and home monitoring systems.
