SANTA BARBARA, Calif., Feb. 7, 2013 — IRCameras LLC has added the IRC906sls to its IRC900 series cooled scientific camera line. The infrared camera incorporates a strained layer superlattice sensor from QmagiQ that allows it to detect radiation in the mid-wavelength infrared (MWIR) and long-wavelength infrared (LWIR) spectral regions. It can be configured for MWIR, LWIR or broadband (2.5 to 11.5 μm) imaging.
The all-digital focal plane array has a 640 × 512-pixel format and a 20-μm pixel pitch. It operates at up to 475 fps at full window size with no electronic crosstalk. It uses onboard frame averaging to improve signal to noise, allowing greater sensitivity and high-quality imaging. It offers subwindowing, external synchronization and multiple outputs.
Applications include long-range surveillance, chemical analysis, and target signature characterization and detection. An optional embedded filter wheel allows the user to select specific wavelengths of interest in the MWIR and LWIR regions.
