Lumex has launched the MicronSensIR infrared detector and emitter technology. The lead selenide and lead sulfide detectors are available in single- and multielement formats and provide sensitivity of 1.5 x 1010 Jones across the 1- to 5.5-μm spectrum. The high-speed IR source combines a pulsable emitter with corresponding drive electronics. Applications include medical device technology (standard and portable gas analyzers; devices for CO2, CO, CH4 and anesthesia measurements); environmental (stack, emissions and greenhouse gas monitoring, spectroscopy to identify/characterize multiple elements); industrial safety (fire detection, flame monitoring, spark detection, thermal detection, process/quality control on assembly lines); underground and tunnel safety (gas, fire and spark detection); rail safety (thermal detection for overheating wheels and brakes); and automotive and aviation emissions monitoring.
