SUNNYVALE, Calif., Dec. 11, 2014 — Osram Opto Semiconductors IR Oslux SFH 4780SThe IR Oslux SFH 4780S emitter from Osram Opto Semiconductors operates at 810 nm and offers high radiant intensity of 2900 mW/sr at an operating current of 1 A.

It is 2.4 mm tall and achieves an emission angle of &plusmin;10 °. It can be operated with a current of up to 2 A in pulsed mode, and can be integrated completely unobtrusively behind the covers of mobile devices.

The LED is intended for biometric applications in smartphones and tablets.
