IR LEDThe Oslux SFH 4786S IR LED from Osram Opto Semiconductors Inc. enables biometric iris recognition systems to be made simpler and with lower profiles.

A height of 1.6 mm allows the device to be one-third thinner than its predecessor, allowing reliable biometric access systems based on iris scans to be integrated in slimmer devices.

An 8° tilt in the emission direction of the SFH 4786S is beneficial for the field of view of the camera mounted a slight distance away. Light is emitted with a wavelength of 810 nm, achieving high-contrast images for all iris colors.
