Optris GmbH has released the optris CSmed LT, an IR thermometer whose 87 x 12-mm size makes it suitable for use in small medical devices and products. The plug attached to the instrument’s short connection cable enables fast installation and removal of the thermometer within medical devices, especially for regular calibrations of the sensor. The device has applications in OEM solutions and can be used for IR monitoring of midget machinery for plastic products, gradation for the analysis of medical specimens and for temperature control in cryoengineering. Temperatures between –40 and 1030 °C can be measured.
