Illuminated microscope
Carl Zeiss Ltd.Request Info
Carl Zeiss has announced that its entry-level
Axio Imager.A1 microscope is available with an LED illumination system instead of
conventional — and more costly — halogen lighting. The LED light source
imparts fixed Koehler illumination for all contrasting techniques and eliminates
the complexity of the transmitted-light-beam path. It provides homogeneous illumination
for condenser lens magnifications from 2.5x to 100x and has a service lifetime of
approximately 10,000 h. The microscope is suitable for routine microscopy in
pathology, histology, cytology and anatomy; the LED system may be replaced with
traditional lighting for epifluorescence studies.
