The Image 1 Spies series from Karl Storz Endoscopy-America Inc. are visualization enhancement systems created for surgical uses.

Many visualization challenges are faced during surgical procedures, including hidden anatomical structures due to corridors appearing dark, and decreased operating space because the telescope is moved closer for increased illumination. Pace of surgery is also impeded by tissue, mucus and blood coming in contact with the lens.

The Spies Clara allows surgeons to see clearly into small, deep and dark cavities, and permits greater manipulation of instruments by keeping the telescope farther away than normal. The Spies Chroma improves sense of depth by enabling surgeons to see blood vessels more precisely around the optic nerves.
