Photron USA Inc. offers the IDP Express R2000 system for high-speed real-time image processing. It features an onboard field-programmable gate array (FPGA) to provide experienced developers access to the high-speed open-ended architecture. The system supports one or two of the company’s miniature CMOS high-speed camera heads at full or reduced resolution and speed. It is available in two configurations, without the FPGA and with a XiLinx FPGA. Without the FPGA, the R2000 operates in a typical, high-speed image acquisition capacity, writing image data directly to the host computer’s RAM; operating with it, the R-2000-F enables real-time hardware-based preprocessing while recording the event.
