SANTA CLARA, Calif., Nov. 9, 2015 —
OmniVision Technologies Inc. has announced the OV5675 and OV5695 5-MP image sensors.
Designed for front-facing camera applications in smartphones and tablets, the sensors offer high image and video quality in compact, power-efficient packages.
Built on 1.12-μm PureCel technology, the 1/5-in. OV5675 can capture full-resolution video in a 4:3 aspect ratio at 30 fps, or 720p and 1080p video at 60 fps. Improved quantum efficiency, crosstalk and power efficiency are featured in a compact package with a Z-height of <4 mm.
The 1/4-in. OV5695 uses 1.4-μm OmniBSI+ pixel architecture to capture full-resolution video in a 4:3 aspect ratio at 30 fps, 1080p video at 30 fps, or 720p video at 60 fps with support for interlaced high dynamic range. Low-light sensitivity enhances image and video quality when recording in low-light conditions, reducing user dependence on front-facing flash functionality. Low-power mode is also supported.
