Olympus Europa Holding GmbH has introduced the cellSens software for life sciences imaging applications. Available in three packages, it includes a user-definable interface. Only the required tools are present at each stage. The packages integrate with Microsoft Windows and Office programs. The cellSens Entry version performs simple image acquisition and documentation and is suitable for basic image capture. The cellSens Standard software enables more advanced image capture, including time-lapse TWAIN acquisition. For additional flexibility, cellSens Standard can convert bit-depth and color-space settings to meet the capabilities of the computer system as well as the requirements of the application. Further image processing tools are available for contrast adjustment, smoothing, image sharpening, and noise and shading correction.
