Media Cybernetics Inc. has announced the Image-Pro Insight version 8.0 image acquisition, processing and measurement software. The version includes an updated user interface, ease-of-use enhancements and time-saving features. New features include live measurements, automatic calibration, reporting tools, and combined live tiling and live extended depth-of-field functionality, allowing users to create focused, tiled images in one sitting while manually moving around their specimens. The version provides manual distance, angle, best-fit and area measurement tools. It introduces the Snap-to-Edge “magnetic” measurements that identify object edges to guarantee consistent, fast measurements. The new software’s semiautomated Auto Trace feature draws around an object and determines area measurements with two clicks. Measurements can be exported to Microsoft Excel for further analysis.
