Applied Precision Inc. has introduced the DeltaVision OMX super-resolution imaging system, and the company says that it produces twice the optical resolution of traditional light microscopes. Based on the OMX microscopy system developed by scientists at the University of California, San Francisco, the instrument can solve the limitations of spatial and temporal resolution. It overcomes spatial resolution with 3D-SIM true structured illumination technology, and it uses novel electronics and optics to overcome the speed limitations of cellular imaging. The system can aid scientists studying HIV, neurological diseases, cancer, DNA repair and gene regulation.
