SAN JOSE, Calif., May 2, 2011 — BaySpec Inc. has announced Nunavut, an InGaAs camera and detector line of products that enable low-light spectroscopy in the near-infrared region. Deep cooling of the detector arrays allows for better low-light spectral measurements, offering an improvement of >250 times in signal-to-noise performance.

The devices are available in 900- to 1700-, 1100- to 2200 and 1250- to 2500-nm linear array configurations. They perform real-time spectral data acquisition and offer long-lifetime operation. Hermetic/vacuum sealing ensures reliable operation in harsh environments.

The instruments can be soft-cooled to -20 °C, or deep air-cooled to -55 °C, with water cooling to -90 °C available as an option. They operate from a single 5-V power supply.

Each camera is calibrated in the factory after extensive thermal cycling. The control electronics read out the processed digital signal to extract required information. Both the raw data and the processed data are available to the host.

The Nunavut is a perfect complement to the SuperGamut near-infrared or Raman spectrometers, enabling high-throughput, cost-effective and low-light spectroscopy.
