Olympus Europa Holding’s cellVivo incubation system delivers environmental control of advanced live-cell imaging in a “one size fits all” concept. Adapters for various IX73 and IX83 frame types circumvent the need for multiple incubation systems for distinct microscope configurations.

Various “enclosures” are available, including a light-shielded one with adjustable LED interior lighting, a nonreflective glass viewing window and a safety laser lock, eliminating the need for a dedicated darkroom. Other modules include stage inserts, and temperature and gas controllers for multiwell plates and sample types, allowing users to build their own systems.

The gas controllers and sensors are suitable for samples with specific temperature, humidity, CO₂ and O₂ level requirements. Optional software enables users to program and save a set of predefined conditions for samples and offers a “traffic light” function to monitor conditions. The software’s Web interface enables monitoring while automatically recording experimental data, with the option of email alerts in the event of a problem.
