IDS Imaging Development Systems GmbH has announced a USB video device class (UVC) version of the USB 3 uEye XC industrial camera, a completely platform-independent device.
The 13-MP camera can be plugged into any computer running Windows, Linux or Mac OS X via a USB 3.0 connector without the need for any additional drivers.
With a host of automated features, including autofocus, automatic exposure, white balance and gain controls, the device is suited for applications that experience changing ambient conditions, such as kiosk systems, access control and transportation.
