ANDOVER, Mass., Jan. 29, 2021 — Industrial Laser Power MeterThe Ophir Helios Plus industrial laser power meter from MKS Instruments Inc. measures a wide range of high-power lasers in production operations, as well as additional wavelengths such as blue and green lasers used in copper automotive welding.

The power meter measures lasers of up to 12 kW and provides expanded wavelengths from 450 to 550 nm and 900 to 1100 nm. It is compact, requires no water cooling, and provides a high damage threshold. PROFINET, Ethernet/IP, and RS232 communication options make it easy to integrate into manufacturing networks.

The Helios Plus measures high-power solid-state lasers such as diode, fiber, and Nd:YAG lasers with powers from 100 W to 12 kW and energies from 10 J to 10 kJ. The system operates by measuring the power, energy, and exposure time of a short pulse, then calculating power. It comes with a PC application and command set for easy integration into user systems. It is equipped with two power and two RJ45 ports for use with existing line or ring topologies.
