IRVINE, Calif., Feb. 16, 2016 — Input Current PhotocouplersToshiba America Electronic Components Inc. has announced the TLP2745 and TLP2748 input current photocouplers for applications with intelligent power module drivers, communications interfaces, industrial applications and data transmissions between circuits with different voltages.

The TLP2745 is a buffer logic type, while the TLP2748 is an inverter logic type. Housed in a compact SO6L package, the photocouplers provide a creepage distance of 8 mm and isolation voltage of 5000 Vrms, with a thickness of just 2.3 mm, designed to support a supply voltage range of 4.5 to 30 V.

The devices feature a 120-ns propagation delay time for higher operational efficiency, a 40-ns pulse width distortion and 70-ns propagation delay skew, resulting in reduced inverter dead time and improved power efficiency. With a low threshold input current of 1.6 mA, the devices make a bufferless direct drive from microcomputers possible, reducing power consumption and equipment systems costs.
