First Collaborative Product
TRENTON, N.J., Jan. 15 -- Princeton Instruments and Acton Research have introduced their first united project, the InSight integrated spectroscopy system, a high-performance instrument that comes pre-aligned and focused, ready for experiments right out of the box. Its superior spectral resolution and spatial imaging performance make this instrument well-suited for many applications, such as Raman, fluorescence, luminescence and multistripe emission spectroscopy.

Product manager Marc D. Neglia said, "The InSight is the first in its class of new products that will be introduced by the collaboration between Princeton Instruments and Acton Research, aimed at providing the research and industrial communities with an easy-to-use, complete spectroscopic solution."

The InSight system is coma corrected in the visible region, providing excellent line shapes from 400 nm to 800 nm. Spectral resolution with this 300-mm spectrograph has been tested to be better than 0.1 nm, with an astigmatism less than 50 µm, affords first-class spatial resolution. The InSight is available with several different CCD options, including the Princeton Instruments exclusive with dual-output amplifiers, as well as the industry standard devices. Acton Research offers many accessories from its SpectraPro product line, such as fiber optic adapters, filter wheels and input light sources. The system is fully supported by the industry standard WinSpec software package.
