Li-FI Interconnects
The Fraunhofer Institute for Photonic Microsystems has announced Li-Fi interconnect technology to quickly and securely transmit large amounts of data.
Optical, wireless and 100× faster than current WLANs, Li-Fi is a transmission technology that offers a high, globally uniform, license-free bandwidth range for applications in which large amounts of data need to be transmitted in quasi-real-time from one end device to another without bulky cables. Data rates of up to 12.5 Gbps are possible.
The Li-Fi communications modules can be easily integrated into standard industry systems such as movable and moving system components.
