WETZLAR, Germany, Sept. 8, 2014 — The DMi8 from Leica Microsystems is an inverted microscope equipped with built-in modularity and additional illumination ports for live-cell microscopy.

The microscope comes with a closed-loop focus drive that has an accuracy of 20 nm for the 12-mm travel range. It offers a 19-mm field of view for sCMOS cameras and a 25-mm field of view for optical observation.

The Infinity Port enables access to the infinite light path and integrates light sources and lasers that are necessary for fluorescence recovery after photobleaching, photo switching, ablation and applications ranging from basic imaging to advanced fluorescence microscopy.
