NKT Photonics has released the Koheras Basik X15 ultralow-noise fiber laser for industrial applications such as seismic mapping for oil and gas, pipeline monitoring and security.

The device offers phase noise <1 µrad/vHz and a narrow hertz-range linewidth. It provides 30-mW output power in the 1535- to 1585-nm range.

For applications requiring multiple wavelengths, the module can be integrated into NKT’s Acoustik multichannel rack, which supplies control and power for up to 16 channels.
