Wavelength Electronics Inc.’s re-engineered FL500 laser diode driver integrates with higher-temperature RoHS-compliant manufacturing processes and is compatible with reflow processing at <250 °C. The surface-mount chip provides low-noise diode control that can be configured either as two independent 250-mA drivers or as a single 500-mA one. The driver can run on a 3-V lithium-ion battery or on a 12-V power supply.
