PowerTech_IQStockImage.jpgPower Technology Inc. has released a line of blue, violet and UV instrument-quality laser diode modules that operate at 375, 405, 445 and 473 nm from an 8- to 12-VDC supply and that are available with a circularized beam or with standard elliptical output. Maximum operating current for all models is 3000 mA. The instruments incorporate a precision current source, adjustable focus and active temperature control. They can operate in either constant-current or automatic power control mode and are available with CW or modulated output. Beam divergence is <0.5 or <1 mrad, and output power ranges from 16 to 500 mW, depending upon the model. Applications include laser-induced fluorescence, Raman spectroscopy, data storage, high-resolution printing and remote optical sensing.
