Tektronix Inc. has introduced its LPB series of laser diode source bench instruments. This series, which includes the LPB 1100, 1300 and 1550, is designed to work with the company's other communications measurement products to satisfy the requirements for physical-layer test applications in dense wavelength division multiplexing systems. The lasers' tuning ranges reach 100 nm, and options allow the output wavelength to be adjusted up to 1640 nm or down to 1400 nm. Standard output powers are rated at > dBm, with and dBm output options available.
