The second edition of the Laser Institute of America's (LIA) Laser Hazard Evaluator software program, based on the revised ANSI Z136.1 (2000) American National Standard for Safe Use of Lasers, is now available. The program performs repeated calculations of nominal ocular hazard distance, beam irradiance, laser classification, optical density, maximum permissible exposure and nominal hazard zone. It also shows when and where eye and skin damage will occur. The software runs on Windows 3.0, 95, 98 and NT and requires 941K of free disk space.
