The CPL4000 system from CanLas Laser Processing GmbH enables microwelding with a spot diameter of 50 µm. The system can be used to weld semiconductors and metals such as steel, platinum, gold, titanium, brass, bronze and nitinol. The beam source is a pulse-driven Nd:YAG laser that emits at 1064 nm, and the laser energy is transmitted through a quartz-glass fiber and focused on approximately 100 µm. Specifications include pulse energy up to 4000 mJ, pulse length of 0.1 to 5.0 ms and an average output of 5 W.
