LDS30 Laser Distance Sensors
Jenoptik Defense & Civil SystemsRequest Info
JENA, Germany, Nov. 21, 2011 — The LDS30 laser distance sensors from Jenoptik are designed for applications that require instantly triggered and very fast data acquisition.
The compact sensors provide measurement rates as fast as 30 kHz at up to 250 m and an absolute accuracy in the centimeter range. The maximum range is achieved for measurement on special targets such as common retroreflectors. For natural surfaces with 10% reflectivity, the measurement range still covers 30 m. The sensor operation is eye-safe, emitting invisible laser light at 905 nm.
Typical applications include object detection, proximity sensing and altimeter operation. The distance sensors can be used for 2- and 3-D object scanning systems in industrial automation.
The sensors are constructed for system integration. They are available in two models: the ready-to-install housed version is IP67-, shock- and vibration-proof and suitable for installation into harsh industrial automation environments. The module version is for individual integration into specialized system solutions; for easy connectivity, the sensors are equipped with RS-232 and RS-422 interfaces, respectively, as well as with two digital switching outputs and an analog data output.
