Global Lighting Technologies Inc. has introduced a 2 x 2-ft sq LED flat panel downlight assembly that it says provides a brighter, lighter-weight and more efficient replacement for the 2 x 2-ft fluorescent lay-in troffers used in recessed ceiling lights. The OL2 series ceiling lights are UL-certified for the US and Canada. The downlights employ proprietary edge-lighting technology, with 100 LEDs spaced along two sides of the lightguide for optimal light dispersion. Four models are available, with color temperatures ranging from warm white to cool white (3000, 4000, 5000 and 6000 K). Brightness (luminous flux) ranges from 2050 to 2840 lm, with efficiencies from 45.5 lm/W at 3000 K to 62.8 lm/W at 6000 K. Color rendering index is ≥75%.
