LED Irradiation System
UVphotonics NT GmbHRequest Info
A turnkey LED irradiation system from UVphotonics NT GmbH and the Ferdinand-Braun Institute is designed for surface treatment.
For disinfection purposes, the compact system can be equipped with 265-nm UV LEDs to eliminate germs on critical surfaces such as mobile phones, reusable masks, and menu cards in restaurants. It can also be assembled with LEDs providing the optimum emission spectrum for polymer curing and medical treatments. The module can control up to four different wavelengths separately, which is advantageous in applications such as medical treatment and curing. To cover larger areas, the modular segments can be mechanically interconnected wire-free and therefore the system is flexibly expandable into 1D and 2D arrays.
The system can also be used in the healthcare sector for clinic and laboratory use. It is equipped with an illumination module comprising 16 UV LEDs distributed over an area of 80 × 80 mm. The LEDs provide an intensity >5 mW/cm2. Therefore, the irradiation system achieves the minimum UV dose of 500 mJ/cm2 recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in <2 min. An integrated timer ensures the correct dosage.
