Leica.jpgThe DM1000 LED microscope released by Leica Microsystems GmbH incorporates a 4-W LED with a life-time of 100,000 h to provide color-neutral illumination, and a portable solar power supply is available for field-based applications. The instrument provides height-adjustable focus buttons, eye tubes that can be individually adjusted or configured with a 15° viewing angle, and easy switching between right- and left-handed operation. Objectives are brightness-synchronized to protect the eyes. The robust ceramic stage can be equipped with specimen holders to enable one-handed specimen changes. Aperture diaphragms and objectives are color-coded for rapid adjustments. The microscope can be equipped with a fluorescence axis and an intuitive image archiving software package.
