Edmund Industrial Optics has released windows and plano- and double-convex lenses for deep-UV and far-IR applications. CaF2, vacuum-UV-grade MgF2 and germanium substrates are available, as well as planoconvex laser-grade ZnSe lenses. CaF2 and MgF2 elements with >90% transmission from 250 nm to 7 µm and 200 nm to 6 µm, respectively, are offered for cryogenically cooled thermal imaging and excimer laser applications. Germanium lenses are provided with high transmission from 2 to 14 µm and with antireflection coatings for 8 to 12 µm and 3 to 5 µm.
