The LFS-4000 is an optical fiber processing tool designed to splice standard, large-diameter and specialty fibers. With LFS-4000, Vytran has combined our proprietary filament fusion splicing technology, a high degree of user process control, and simple manufacturing operation. It’s an ideal option for manufacturers wanting the fusion splicing capabilities of our multi-function workstations, but from a simpler, stand-alone tool.
LFS-4000 systems feature:
• Filament fusion—our proven method for creating high-strength, low-loss splices.
• Capability to splice fibers with diameters from 125 to 900 microns, including polarization maintaining (PM) fibers, large mode area (LMA) fiber, photonic crystal fiber (PCF), highly stressed fibers and D shapes.
• PC-based software with two screens – one full-function screen for product development; and another simpler operator screen for high-volume manufacturing.
• An extensive applications library to help streamline processes from development to manufacturing..
LFS-4000 also works seamlessly with our GPX-3400 glass processing system, LDC-400 fiber cleaver, and PTR-200 series of fiber recoaters and proof testers. Used together, these products provide a full range of capabilities for development through high-volume manufacturing of fiber assemblies, fused components and fiber terminations for fiber lasers, medical devices, sensing and others.
