Dalsa Corp. has expanded its Piranha3 family of line-scan cameras with the release of its 8k and 12k models. The 12k has a 5-µm-pixel pitch, the 8k, a 7-µm pitch, and both deliver 320-MHz throughput with a 100% fill factor, high responsivity, flat-field correction and ±50-µm sensor alignment accuracy. The 8k camera produces line rates of up to 33.7 kHz, and the 12k, 23.5 kHz. Both have eight outputs running at 40 MHz. A Camera Link interface facilitates integration into existing systems. Users can select the bit depth and the number of taps.
